Data Wipe Process
To ensure the security and privacy of your data, Tech For Tomorrow follows the NIST SP 800-88r1 (“Clear” and “Purge”) guidelines for data sanitization:
- Data Erasure and Hard Drive Removal
First, we securely catalog each device and filter out hard drives.
- NIST-Compliant Data Sanitization
We perform a single-pass randomized overwrite in accordance with NIST SP 800-88r1 standards, ensuring that all logical data is irrecoverable. For drives requiring higher assurance, we apply the NIST “Purge” method, either a firmware overwrite or degaussing, rendering any residual data unreadable.
- Certification and Reporting
Within two to three weeks of completion, we email you a detailed Certificate of Data Destruction. Upon request, we’ll also provide a spreadsheet listing serial numbers of sanitized or destroyed drives for your records.
You can be confident that by following NIST’s thorough guidelines, we ensure your data is fully and verifiably erased.
